{"id":3873,"date":"2021-07-08T13:04:40","date_gmt":"2021-07-08T13:04:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iplantprotect.pt\/plagues\/rice-blast\/"},"modified":"2021-07-08T13:04:40","modified_gmt":"2021-07-08T13:04:40","slug":"rice-blast","status":"publish","type":"iplantprotect_plague","link":"https:\/\/iplantprotect.pt\/en\/iplantprotect_plague\/rice-blast\/","title":{"rendered":"Rice blast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Caused by the fungus <em>Magnaporthe oryzae<\/em>, rice blast is one of the most common diseases in rice worldwide and also in Portugal, affecting all producing basins, from Mondego to Tagus, Sorraia and Sado.<\/p>\n\n<p><em>Magnaporthe oryzae<\/em>\u2018s attack may result in losses in production of around 50%, as happened to rice farmers in Tejo-Sorraia in 2018. However, losses in production are more or less considerable depending on the variety of rice and climatic factors, like humidity and temperature. In cultivation sites where a relative humidity of 95% prevails with an average temperature of 26 \u00b0C\/ 27 \u00b0C, the risk of infection and spore spreading is high.<\/p>\n\n<p>The presence of rice blast is visible by the appearance of circular or elliptical spots, presenting a grayish center surrounded by reddish-brown edges, and can manifest itself in all aerial parts of the plant and at any time of its development process, from the early stages to the milky grain phase.<\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"featured_media":3869,"template":"","iplantprotect_pragas_category":[],"class_list":["post-3873","iplantprotect_plague","type-iplantprotect_plague","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/iplantprotect.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/iplantprotect_plague\/3873","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/iplantprotect.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/iplantprotect_plague"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/iplantprotect.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/iplantprotect_plague"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/iplantprotect.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/iplantprotect_plague\/3873\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/iplantprotect.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/3869"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/iplantprotect.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=3873"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"iplantprotect_pragas_category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/iplantprotect.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/iplantprotect_pragas_category?post=3873"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
