{"id":12970,"date":"2024-05-17T14:58:13","date_gmt":"2024-05-17T14:58:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iplantprotect.pt\/?p=12970"},"modified":"2025-05-14T17:20:10","modified_gmt":"2025-05-14T17:20:10","slug":"dia-do-agricultor-voltou-a-elvas-e-contou-com-a-presenca-do-ministro-da-agricultura-e-pescas","status":"publish","type":"eventos","link":"https:\/\/iplantprotect.pt\/en\/eventos\/dia-do-agricultor-voltou-a-elvas-e-contou-com-a-presenca-do-ministro-da-agricultura-e-pescas\/","title":{"rendered":"Farmers' Day returned to Elvas and was attended by the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last Wednesday morning, May 15, another Farmers\u201c Day was held at the Innovation Hub in Elvas, under the motto \u201dChallenges and opportunities for the sustainable intensification of agriculture\", which was attended by the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Jos\u00e9 Manuel Fernandes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>InnovPlantProtect (InPP) was present at this event, promoted by the National Institute for Agrarian and Veterinary Research (INIAV, IP), a founding member of InPP, which aimed to promote the dynamics of innovation that result in the valorization of national production and also in people settling in the territories. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The initiative kicked off with a speech by the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, who highlighted the importance of the agricultural sector, stressing that \u201cAgriculture is much more than numbers and GDP. It's territorial cohesion, it's landscape, it's culture, it's gastronomy, it's tourism\u201d, and he also listed as priority areas for action the improvement of farmers' incomes, the attraction of younger people and the link with academia and research, which must be based on a perspective of territorial cohesion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was followed by a round table on \u201cTerritory, Capacity Building, Research and Innovation\u201d, moderated by Jos\u00e9 Palha, representing the CerealTech Competence Center, and with the participation of Nuno Canada, President of INIAV, Paulo Fernandes, Mayor of Fund\u00e3o, Bernardo Albino, Vice-President of the National Association of Protein, Oilseed and Cereal Producers (ANPOC) and Jo\u00e3o Madeira, from the Extensive Grazing Competence Center. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"12975\" src=\"https:\/\/easb4aajaue.exactdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/443929436_996481348506948_1829948409302865280_n-1024x757.jpg?strip=all&resize=800%2C591\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12975\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"12971\" src=\"https:\/\/easb4aajaue.exactdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/441151500_996479761840440_7225744204163418995_n-1024x652.jpg?strip=all&resize=800%2C509\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12971\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"13008\" src=\"https:\/\/easb4aajaue.exactdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/441077545_996482485173501_8705639005284812519_n-edited.jpg?strip=all&w=800\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13008\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The round table concluded with the presentation of the Cereais do Alentejo range of products, a registered trademark of ANPOC which, like the Fund\u00e3o Cherry, aims to enhance national cereal production; and with the launch of the technical guide \u201cCereais Praganosos - A Produtividade e a Qualidade Constroem-se\u201d, a manual that results from the compilation of the most relevant knowledge transmitted over the years in the Technical Training for Autumn\/Winter Cereal Production, jointly promoted by ANPOC, INIAV and the Polytechnic Institute of Beja since 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulations to INIAV for the initiative!
