In\u00eas Ferreira <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Three of InPP's researchers, Alexandra Machado, Jo\u00e3o Cola\u00e7o and Nuno Faria, and the communications manager, In\u00eas Ferreira, were on site throughout the four days of the fair to demonstrate InPP's various capabilities to visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Department of New Biopesticides, for example, brought biological control agents (BCA) - fungi and bacteria in Petri dishes, namely the fungus <em>Magnaporthe oryzae<\/em>, which causes pyriculariosis of rice, as well as some BCA that inhibit the<em> M. oryzae<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, the team also took several species of powdered algae in different colors, such as blue, green and red, which have been explored as part of the project <a href=\"https:\/\/www.algaevertical.com\/ \ud83d\udd17\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vertical Algae<\/a>, The aim of the project, which is part of the Blue Bioeconomy Pact Mobilizing Agenda, is to understand their capacity as biopesticides against fungi and bacteria that cause disease in various agricultural crops that are important for national agriculture and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"12627\" src=\"https:\/\/easb4aajaue.exactdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20240322_102125-1-edited.jpg?strip=all&w=800\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12627\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"12629\" src=\"https:\/\/easb4aajaue.exactdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20240322_160633-1-edited.jpg?strip=all&w=800\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12629\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"12631\" src=\"https:\/\/easb4aajaue.exactdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20240322_163933-1-edited.jpg?strip=all&w=800\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12631\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Image credits: InnovPlantProtect - AgriBioCircular\u201d, \u201cMoniTREEng\u201d and \u201cArtificial Intelligence applied to a prediction and early detection system for&nbsp;<em>Phytophthora cinnamomi<\/em>&nbsp;in dehesa ecosystems\u201d.
